An attempt was made to recreate a classic blend that would showcase the Malvasia that wealthy families in Madeira drank in their homes in the 1950s. Among wines from the demijohns of Mário Barbeito and Manuela Vasconcelos, we chose Malvasias with great elegance, but not excessively sweet. Aromatic intensity and high acidity came from a wine from the beginning of the last quarter of the 20th century, very concentrated in sugar due to excessive time in "canteiro." This wine forced us to add a dry Malvasia from the 1930s, with little oxidation, but necessary to lower the baumé of the blend and maintain the acidity / sugar balance.

Color dark amber, open, intense, and sophisticated bouquet with smoky notes, fruit in syrup, molasses, hints of raisin, rose petal fragrance, and caramelized nuts. Robust on the palate with a well-defined acidity unleashing its full potential. Layered jam flavors, rich but with a fine and delicate dryness. Well-rising acidity in a powerful and bittersweet finish. Excellent as a digestif, pairs well with strong cheeses.
