This Sercial 50 years old is a tribute to Manuel Eugénio Fernandes, born in 1906 in the parish of Seixal, Madeira Island. An entrepreneur who started his wine business in 1939 when he decided to buy Sercial and Verdelho grapes from winegrowers in Seixal and Ribeira da Janela, and then sell the wines to Madeira wine producers, in what would become one of his most significant commercial activities. The relationship between Vinhos Barbeito and the family of Manuel Eugénio is long and has passed from generation to generation. For this Sercial Ricardo Diogo selected wines aged in the Seixal wine cellar, creating a blend with unique characteristics in terms of salinity and acidity.

In the glass it opens with a fresh and elegant bouquet with notes of caramelized nuts, acacia, aniseed flower, nutmeg and cocoa. The first impact in the mouth is of pure silk followed by an explosive acidity. The flavours of nuts and citrus fruits combine harmoniously. Mineral aftertaste and a long-lasting dryness.
