Verdelho | 1993
This 1993 Verdelho was one of the first wines vinified by Ricardo Diogo, whose must came from Vinhos Barbeito old direct pressing system. After being fortified and separated from the lees, began in March 1994 until today it's ageing process in old casks of French oak. In April of 2014 a few litres of this 1993 Verdelho were transferred to demijohns of 64 litres, following the family tradition. Keeping the wine in demijohns granted the excellent balance that this wine presents. From the demijohn 92 only 57 units of 750ml were bottled, all numbered and signed.
14º C | 16º C
With an amber colour, this Verdelho introduces itself as delicate and exuberant, followed by notes of sea, suggestions of woods, resin, pistachio and a light varnish in a soft caramelised background. The freshness involves the palate thanks to the mature citric flavours. Acidity in the point where elegance prevails. The fine dryness gives it the persistence of the flavour that continues exquisite and sublime.
