Boal 1978

This 1978 Boal initiated the process of aging in old casks of French oak wood in March 1979 and was bottled for the first time in 2001. In November of 2008 Ricardo Diogo transferred some of this wine to demijohns of 64 litters, according to an old family method. In this case, keeping the wine in demijohns prevented an excessive concentration, kept its elegancy and the ideal balance between acidity and sweetness.

The characteristic amber colour leaves guessing a rich and aromatic bouquet that fills the nose to dry plum, caramelized nuts, polished wood and resin. The taste is elegant and exquisite with a menthol caramel flavour and a fine and precise acidity that balances the fresh and noble ending.

From the demijohn 26 were bottled exclusively for DIOGOS, 65 units of 750ml.
